Profhilo
Bio-Remodelling Injectable

£300–£500 6 months Minimal downtime

What is Profhilo?

Profhilo is a unique injectable treatment made from ultra-pure, high-concentration hyaluronic acid (HA). Unlike traditional dermal fillers, which are designed to add volume to specific areas, Profhilo is a bio-remodelling agent — it spreads through the tissue and stimulates the production of four different types of collagen and elastin, fundamentally improving the quality and hydration of the skin from within.

It contains one of the highest concentrations of hyaluronic acid available in any injectable product (64mg in 2ml), and its unique thermal cross-linking technology means it has both a high-molecular-weight component (which provides deep hydration and tissue support) and a low-molecular-weight component (which stimulates cellular activity at a superficial level).

Clinical note

Profhilo is not a filler and does not add volume. It is a skin quality treatment. Patients who want to address volume loss or structural changes should consider dermal fillers or bio-stimulators such as Sculptra or HArmonyCa instead. Profhilo is best suited to patients with good facial structure who want to improve skin texture, hydration, and early laxity.

What can be treated?

  • Face: Improving skin quality, hydration, and fine lines across the whole face.
  • Neck: Tightening and hydrating crepey neck skin.
  • Décolletage: Improving skin quality on the chest.
  • Hands: Restoring hydration and improving the appearance of ageing hands.
  • Arms and knees: Treating loose, crepey skin.

What to expect — the process

  • The protocol: Profhilo is administered as a course of 2 sessions, spaced 4 weeks apart. A maintenance session every 6 months is recommended to sustain results.
  • The BAP technique: Profhilo is injected using the Bio Aesthetic Points (BAP) technique — 5 precise injection points on each side of the face that allow the product to spread evenly through the tissue.
  • The treatment: Each session takes approximately 20–30 minutes. Small bumps (blebs) are visible immediately after injection but typically resolve within a few hours.
  • Results: Skin hydration improves quickly, but the full collagen-stimulating effect develops over 4–8 weeks after the second session.
Important safety information

Profhilo contains hyaluronic acid and should not be used in patients with known hypersensitivity to HA or gram-positive bacterial proteins. As with all injectable treatments, there is a small risk of bruising, swelling, and infection at injection sites. Vascular occlusion, while rare, is a serious complication of all HA injectables and requires immediate treatment with hyaluronidase.

How to choose a clinic

Profhilo is a prescription-only medicine and should only be administered by a qualified prescriber. Ensure your practitioner has specific training in the BAP technique and understands the anatomy of facial tissue planes. Ask about their protocol for managing vascular complications.
